Musical Instruction • Irish Cultural presentations

Kathleen Hartshorne, Irish lever harpist/soprano

Kathleen is a former member of the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra Festival Choir, and attended Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Currently performs Ancient Irish and Renaissance Music professionally. She also teaches harp, voice, and piano lessons at her home studio in Chula Vista as well as through Dehesa Charter School and Julian Charter School. She is fingerprinted and background checked.

Piano, Voice, and Harp Lessons: 

1/2 hour = $25. Or 1 hour = $50. 
Lessons in Kathleen’s Chula Vista studio.

All levels accepted. Students can choose from traditional Irish, classical, folk, art song, pop, country, classic rock, and musical theatre genres.

Piano instruction includes music theory, scales, fingering techniques, repertoire development and music appreciation.

Voice instruction includes breathing techniques, articulation, and vocalization, range development, music theory, repertoire development, and music appreciation. Student can take regular lessons, or prepare for musical theatre or university auditions, or just get help with a song.

Harp instruction includes music theory, fingering techniques, scales, repertoire development and music appreciation. Instructor specializes in Irish lever harp, but can also provide classical music repertoire and preparation for playing the pedal harp.

“Wee Ones” Music Class

$15/per student – class is 45 minutes - minimum of 5 students per class. Wee Ones is an interactive parent/child class of music appreciation, songs, dance, rhythm, and music theory.  Includes musical performances and opportunities to try instruments as well. Lots of fun and laughter. Age appropriate programs — toddler, preschool, kindergarten, or early primary grades. Can arrange ongoing classes or one time for classroom presentation or birthday party.

Classroom/Library Presentations

Custom presentations or performances choosing from: Irish geography, history, culture, music, dance, and songs. Also offering elocution and Voice workshops for acting and musical theater. Can wear Irish traditional costumes.
